Looking for a cannabis strain that will make you the life of the party without losing your cool? You should check out the Gelonade strain.
Gelonade is one of the best hybrid marijuana strains on the market. It’s a fairly easy cannabis strain to grow, even for complete novices. Here’s what you need to know before you start growing your first Gelonade cannabis plant.
About the Gelonade Strain
The Gelonade cannabis strain is a 70/30 sativa-dominant hybrid. It’s a cross between two parent strains: Lemon Tree (sativa) and Gelato #41 (indica). It has a 22-26% average THC level, producing a powerful high.
Smoking Gelonade flower will give you the head high of a sativa with the relaxing properties of an indica. You’ll feel tingling sensations in your head and neck as the high creeps up on you.
Once you reach the full high of the Gelonade strain, you’ll feel motivated, energized, and creative. You can use this variety of marijuana in the morning to be ready to take on anything life throws at you. Even with the burst of energy, the indica genetics of this strain will keep you peaceful throughout your experience.
Gelonade cannabis may have medical benefits, too, including alleviating the symptoms of:
- Stress
- Fatigue
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Chronic pain
Characteristics of the Gelonade Cannabis Plant
Most sativa plants are tall and have long thin cylindrical buds. However, Gelonade cannabis plants take after their indica parent Gelato #41, with a moderate height and thick buds.
The plant’s buds are shaped like grapes and contain dark orange hairs. The trichomes of the Gelonade strain are glassy and have a tinge of purple, creating a gorgeous plant.
Gelonade gets its signature sour citrus flavor from its terpenes, including linalool, ocimene, caryophyllene, and limonene. It has an earthy smell, but tastes like vanilla cake when you exhale.
The Gelonade cannabis plant begins to flower at nine weeks and has a harvest time of about 10 weeks. When grown indoors, your yield will be about 1-2 ounces per square foot. Outdoors, harvests can be as high as 15-20 ounces per plant.
How to Grow Gelonade
Gelonade’s parent plants are both notoriously difficult to grow. Interestingly, their offspring is much easier to cultivate and even suitable for a new cannabis grower.
Growing cannabis indoors can be very fulfilling, and you can cultivate an amazing yield for your Gelonade strain crop. Invest in grow lights, a watering system, and the right pots and containers before you buy your first seeds.
Plant your indoor cannabis plants in the proper soil. Loose, loamy soil is best for most strains. The planting soil should blend water retention with drainage.
Top and prune your cannabis plants with houseplant scissors regularly. This removes extra growth, allowing the middle and lower areas of the plant to get more air and light, resulting in a healthier plant. Plus, it can prevent moisture buildup, reducing the risk of fungus or mold.
Make sure that your Gelonade strain plants are getting the nutrients they need. The three nutrients that cannabis plants need to thrive are:
- Nitrogen
- Potassium
- Phosphorus
Our Indoor Plant Food supplies your cannabis plants with all of these ingredients. The fertilizer doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals to ensure that your weed is completely safe to smoke. Plus, it comes pre-mixed and ready to use!
